Overview:
Florida Firearms Academy’s Basic Pistol Class is the perfect starting point for new shooters or those returning to the range after a long break. This course focuses on firearm safety, understanding pistol mechanics, and building the core skills needed for safe, confident shooting—on and off the range.
Who This Class Is For:
- First-time gun owners
- Those seeking structured instruction in handgun use
- Anyone preparing for concealed carry training
- Shooters wanting a refresher in safety and fundamentals
What You’ll Learn:
✅ Safe handling and storage of handguns
✅ Handgun types and how they function
✅ Proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
✅ How to load, unload, and make a firearm safe
✅ Live-fire exercises with instructor supervision
What’s Included:
- Professional instruction by USCCA and/or NRA certified professionals
- Indoor range time and hands-on application
- Firearm rental and lane fee
- Eye and ear protection
- Paper targets
- Note: If you bring your own firearm, ammunition is not included, but is available for purchase

- Valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
- Optional: Your own firearm and ammo (if preferred)
- Curiosity, questions, and readiness to learn
- Notepad and pen (optional)

- FFA Members: (20% discount)
Important Notes:
- This course satisfies the training requirement for the Florida Concealed Weapon License; however, we recommend taking our dedicated CWP class for full legal coverage and carry scenarios.
- Ammunition requirement is approximately 20 rounds per student.
